Meet our instructors...

Abigail Leah Seaman
Abby is a Graduate Performance Diploma Student, class of 2010, from the Peabody Conservatory and also has a Current Master of Music in Voice. Abby received her Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from West Chester University and is proficient in all vocal styles

Annie Gill
Annie has been studying voice and piano since 1991.  She holds a BM from Indiana U, a MM from Boston U, as well as a Performance Diploma from The Peabody Conservatory.  Though she concentrates on Opera in her own singing, she teaches all vocal styles.

Ben DeHan
Ben’s guitar studies began in 1999 with the renowned local musician, Tom Lagana.  After years of private study, Ben toured the country with "American Diary" before returning to Maryland to continue his education.  Ben hopes to help people find their own unique voice through music with a combination of applied technique and music theory.

Brad Gunson
Local musician, Brad Gunson, is an active performer and teacher throughout our area and abroad. He has studied music formally at Towson U. and NYU. At S & S Music Brad shares his love for music and encourages students to achieve their creative goals through guitar, bass, drums, and brass instruments.

Brandon Reeder
Brandon Reeder has been teaching since 2007. His styles include traditional rudiments,matching grip techniques and double kick patterns with influences from rock, jazz, samba, reggae, punk, and heavy metal. He has an Asscociates of Liberal Arts degree from AACC and will be graduating from UMBC in 2012 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Music Performance.

Chris Gosper
Chris has ever 30 years experience as a violinist/violist/cellist with focus on orchestra, string quartet, conducting, coaching and private instruction.  Ms. Gosper is known for innovative ways of conveying technique and importance of middle voices.  She maintains and strengthens her skills today by actively participating in local orchestras.

Don Parker
Don has been playing guitar since 1983 and teaching privately at S&S Music since 2004.  Don studied Theory/Composition and Performance at PGCC.  His personal playing and teaching style includes influences from classical to jazz, country and blues, to metal and beyond.

Gretchen McCracken
Gretchen holds a BME from the University of North Carolina Greensboro School of Music.  Gretchen previously taught middle and high school band in North Carolina and she started teaching at S&S Music in 2002.  She is currently a member of the Columbia Orchestra and she also performs as a freelance musician throughout the area.

James Lenz
James has been an active musician since 1996, playing in a multitude of musical outfits. Mr. Lenz has been teaching guitar, bass, banjo and mandolin skills since 2004  and is now available for private lessons for beginner to intermediate players of all ages.

Jim Brewster
Jim started playing guitar in 1982 and has since become skilled at the bass guitar, mandolin, banjo and several world percussion instruments as well.  Jim currently plays and sings with local band, Kiva.  His teaching specialties are the blues, folk, classic and roots rock.  Jim has been teaching at S&S Music since 2004

John Collins
John holds a BME and a MME from Howard U and has been a music educator since 1969 in the Anne Arundel and Howard County Public Schools system.  John founded the MacArthur String Orchestra and headed the music department at Meade High School 1976-1998.  He has been a music instructor at S&S Music since 2004.

John Haggerty
John has been studying music since 1995 and is currently pursuing a degree in Jazz/Commercial Composition from Towson U.  In addition to music composition, John is also continuing advanced violin studies with Towson Professor, Dr. Jeffery Howard.

Joshua Lilly
 Since 2001, Josh has been teaching sight reading, music theory and improvisation as well as applied technique on the guitar and piano to area students.

Julia Parks
Julia has studied vocal performance and piano since 2005. After years as a student and performer, Ms. Parks attended The Eastman School of Music where she attained her BM in Vocal Performance. Julia is currently taking piano and vocal students on Friday afternoons and evenings here at S&S Music.

Mike Levins
Mike has been an active musician since 1984 in both performance and instructional fields.  After training with several top recording artists, he studied Jazz at Five Towns College and then went on to become skilled at all styles of music through training at The Guitar Institute.

Michael O'Donnell
Michael currently serves as a music faculty member at North County High School. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of Maryland. Mike has performed with several big name acts: The Andy Poxon Band, John Lusky, Kevin Kline, Deanna Dove, ACME Blues Co. plus many more!.

Natalie Tucker
Natalie is a piano instructor with over 10 years teaching experience. With her degree in early childhood education as well as music performance, Ms. Tucker does especially well with young children but is proficient with students of all ages.

Scott Baker
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Scott Baker is a welcomed addition to the drum staff at S&S Music. Scott graduated from St.Marys College of Maryland with a degree in Music Performance and has since performed and recorded with numerous groups. Private  lessons are now available with Mr. Baker for students of all ages and skill levels.
